Today I was headed towards Boerne, Texas and I decided to stop at Texas Pride Barbecue just South of San Antonio to try out their brisket. This place has been on my list for a while and I finally got the chance to stop by.
Texas Pride Barbecue has been on the food channel featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Their brisket is pretty darn good and worth stopping by and trying out. If you’re ever in the San Antonio area, I highly recommend you stop by and eat at Texas Pride Barbecue, you won’t be disappointed.

While heading to deep South Texas I stopped in Mathis, Texas and found Smolik’s Smokehouse. This place was listed a few years back on the Top 50 BBQ places in Texas Monthly.
Their Brisket is awesome, well worth the stop to get some great BBQ! I had the Brisket, Mac & Cheese and Braised Cabbage. The Mac & Cheese was good but nothing to write home about. The Braised Cabbage was awesome!
